About the event

Hoping to meet youth leaders and gain insight on how to make a difference in your community? Now’s your chance

Join us Thursday, November 18 from 8:00 to 10:00 PM for an evening of panel talks, networking, and round-table discussions with local youth activists paving the way for a better future and building ties in our communities. Gain insider knowledge from activists who specialize in supporting houseless communities through mutual aid, advancing pleasure and research-based sex education, fighting homophobia and anti-semitism, and bringing Black women and girls together to foster connection through literature.

What’s more? Escape the McGill bubble and get a taste of Temps Libre, one of the Mile End’s hidden gems.

100% of the proceeds from this event will go to LogiFem, a Montreal-based non-profit that provides shelter and care to women and children. Their vision is to equip and empower women and children to leave the cycle of homelessness and thrive.

Accessibility: From McGill’s downtown campus you can walk to Rue Sherbrooke and Avenue du Parc and take the 80 Bus Nord until stop: Du Parc / Saint-Viateur. It’s a 5 min walk to Temps Libre from here. This should take you ~35 minutes in total. The venue is accessible by wheelchair.

COVID-19: All necessary COVID-19 precautions will be taken. In order to access the event, you must come with a valid vaccine passport and mask.

Temps Libre is located on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. McGill Collective for Gender Equality recognizes, respects and seeks to honour the fact that these nations are the traditional custodians of the land on which we are to meet.
